About the EBA

The voice of European boating

Founded in 1982, the EBA aims to ensure boat users are informed and consulted about EU legislation and to make their views known to relevant European Institutions. We work on a wide range of issues that impact upon boating within Europe and when necessary make appropriate proposals to national and European governmental organisations.

Our work embraces environmental, technical and regulatory issues together with specific projects such as the promotion of the International Certificate of Competence and representing the leisure interests of the inland waterways of Europe to the UNECE Inland Transport Committee.

Fondée en 1982, l’EBA a pour but que les plaisanciers soient informés et consultés sur tout ce qui les concerne dans la législation Européenne, et que leurs opinions soient représentées auprès des autorités compétentes.

Notre travail comprend les questions écologiques, technologiques et réglementaires, mais aussi des projets bien spécifiques tels que la promotion du Certificat International de Compétence ou la représentation des intérêts de loisirs des canaux et rivières d’Europe auprès de I’UNECE Inland Transport Committee.

Die Stimme der europäischen Freizeitschifffahrt

Die EBA wurde 1982 gegründet. Sie setzt sich dafür ein, dass Bootseigner über die EU Gesetzgebung informiert und zu Rate gezogen werden. Wir arbeiten an vielen Projekten die direkten Einfluss auf den Wassersport in Europa haben und machen wenn nötig der nationalen oder europäischen Politik konkrete Vorschläge.

Unsere Arbeit umfasst dabei Fragen der Umwelt, der Technik und der allgemeinen Gesetzgebung, sowie spezifische Fragen wie beispielsweise die Einführung internationaler Befähigungsnachweise (ICC). Wir repräsentieren ebenso die Interessen der Freizeitschifffahrt auf Europas Wasserstraßen beim Inland Transport Committee der UNECE.

La EBA nace en 1982, y su objetivo es asegurar que los usuarios de embarcaciones de recreo no sólo estén informados, sino que sean también consultados acerca de la legislación de la UE en esta materia, y hacer llegar su voz a las instituciones comunitarias relevantes. Trabajamos en una amplia gama de asuntos que afectan a la náutica en Europa y, cuando es necesario, formulamos las propuestas que estimamos adecuadas tanto a las organizaciones gubernamentales nacionales como a las euorpeas.

Nuestro campo de trabajo abarca cuestiones medioambientales, técnicas y legislativas, así como proyectos específicos tales como la promoción del International Certificate of Competence y la representación de los canales de navegación recreativa de Europa ante el Comité de Transportes Interiores de la ONU (UNECE).

La voce della nautica europea

Fondata nel 1982, l’EBA si pone l’obiettivo di assicurare che i diportisti vengano costantemente informati e consultati sulle tematiche relative alla legislazione dell’Unione Europea in materia di diporto nautico, facendo anche in modo che le loro opinioni siano rappresentate presso le Istituzioni comunitarie. L’EBA è impegnata su un’ampia gamma di questioni relative alla navigazione da diporto in ambito europeo e, quando necessario, avanza le soluzioni piu’ opportune alle Organizzazioni Governative, nazionali ed internazionali.

L’attivita’ svolta abbraccia problemi di natura ambientale, tecnica e normativa, estendendosi a specifiche progettualità come la promozione dei Certificati Internazionali di Competenza (ICC), ma anche alla rappresentazione presso il Comitato per i Trasporti Interni dell’UN/ECE di interessi del diporto lungo le vie della navigazione interna dell’Europa.
